Swatch Delhi Swasth Delhi- Aao sath Chale
Action India (AI) is implementing the project titled “Women’s Initiative for Community Management towards a Clean Environment and Better Health” project funded by Water Aid – UK’s titled “Swatch Delhi Swasthy Delhi”.
This project was initiated in 2008 in six localities namely -New Seemapuri, Kalander colony, Sunder nagri, Harsh Vihar, Chandbagh, and Welcome colony. This project is built upon the strength of the Sabla Sangh women's collectives, validating women's empowerment with a new focus on community initiatives to form WATSAN committees and improve the access and availability of water and sanitation services. Awareness on health and hygiene to be supplemented by clean water and sanitation will reduce reproductive and urinary tract infection; reduce diarrhea in infants and children; and other water borne gastro-intestinal diseases reporting the highest incidences in East Delhi.
